We ended up in front of the Adam Clayton Powell Jr. memorial, and were blessed by the welcoming presence and support of an elderly brother and sister who were baptized by Powell in Harlem 60 years before. Powell was a civil rights leader, the first Black congressperson representing Harlem, and a prominent minister in his community. These people and others told us that Powell would have supported our cause.

Other than one guy warning us that the “Man” would assassinate us, there was little negative response. As we left we thanked one of the many traffic police who were standing in the intersection. Before we could speak she said something like, ‘You all just finding that out!?’

One of us had the opportunity to speak with a retired police officer who was very respectful and curious, despite our difference of opinion. This location offered us the chance to exercise our adaptability to the audience to which we were addressing. And for three hours, nearly every passenger in every taxi going by saw our sign. “9/11 was an inside job. TruthMove.org.”
