Newsweek Editor Slams Magazine's Own Global Warming Coverage As "Fundamentally Misleading"

Samuelson calls 'denial machine' article "highly contrived," highlights hypocrisy of agenda to silence dissent against man-made explanation

Paul Joseph Watson Prison Planet Tuesday, August 14, 2007

Newsweek editor Robert J. Samuelson has slammed his own publication's global warming coverage as "fundamentally misleading" and "highly contrived," representing another massive blow to the credibility of the climate change cult.

Samuelson was forced to respond to a Newsweek article last week that sought to portray the fight against global warming as a moral crusade characterized by a need to eliminate the influence of any dissenters to the explanation that man-made carbon emissions are solely responsible for climate change.

Please DBLS, you know this is not the place for this stuff. We've been through this before.

If anyone wants to see the debates on this topic, view these threads: http://www.truthmove.org/forum/tags/global-warming

From the Prison Planet article quoting the Newseek column:

"NEWSWEEK implied, for example, that ExxonMobil used a think tank to pay academics to criticize global-warming science. Actually, this accusation was long ago discredited, and NEWSWEEK shouldn't have lent it respectability. (The company says it knew nothing of the global-warming grant, which involved issues of climate modeling. And its 2006 contribution to the think tank, the American Enterprise Institute, was small: $240,000 out of a $28 million budget.)

"As we debate it, journalists should resist the temptation to portray global warming as a morality tale—as NEWSWEEK did—in which anyone who questions its gravity or proposed solutions may be ridiculed as a fool, a crank or an industry stooge. Dissent is, or should be, the lifeblood of a free society," he concludes.

Hmmm, so Newsweek and Infowars are basically defending the American Enterprise Institute and ExxonMobil? Great company, guys.

HYPOCRITES. Environmental awareness is the dissenting voice. "Global warming is a hoax so don't worry" is the establishment. Not just in the media coverage but in THE POLICIES AND THE CONTINUED DESTRUCTION OF THE ENVIRONMENT WHICH SUPPORTS ALL LIFE ON EARTH.

200 species are going extinct every day on this planet. About 1000 times the natural extinction rate. Why? Because of human habitat destruction, pollution, hunting, fishing, and all around short-sighted greed.

If that's OK with you, if you think the system is fine, TruthMove is not the site for you.
