One of the things that exhilarated me about the Truth Movement when I got involved about 2005 was the abolition of the left/right paradigm. Libertarians and Communists of good will could agree about facts and set aside their ideologies and work together to combat the danger to our country that we all recognized in the Bushcist regime.
The original Tea Party wanted to defend the Constitution, impeach Bush, and end wars. In 2009 some Green Party truthers attended a "Transpartisan Alliance" conference in Colorado. I wanted to go, but when I saw that Grover Norquist was scheduled as an honored guest I got an uneasy feeling. AFAIK that was the high-water mark of the transpartisan movement, and it never recovered. The Tea Partiers were bought out by Republican money, and the original anti-Imperialist leadership was ejected.
As to Luke and WeAreChange and the Loose Change guys, I was quite troubled when they embraced the FDNY guy John Schroeder with no apparent recognition of the impossibilities in Mr. Schroeder's story. He claimed that he saw 40 floors of fire at the WTC, and claimed that Tower 1 fell before Tower 2. He told three different stories about how his life was saved by the "maintenance fella," whose name he could not remember. He put his hands together prayerfully to express thanks for his rescue -- and then wiped his nose with his hand. I think his purpose was to embarrass the "maintenance fella" -- and WaC and Luke were too confirmation-biased to see it.
