I don't really know much of the background you're referring to. Maybe you could explain a little.
It seems clear to me that the whole case against Stewart is meant to intimidate any lawyer from defending those the government has deemed "terrorists" (i.e. any lawyer who is challenging the government's fascist progression and complete disregard for rights and the law).
From what I understand, Stewart may have exercised poor judgment by releasing the statement of the Blind Sheik, but she shouldn't be sent to prison for it.
