    Bad news.

Holocaust Museum shooter von Brunn a 9/11 'truther' who hated 'neo-cons', Bush, McCain

    http://www.examiner.com/x-722-Conservative-Politic...

The man accused of opening fire at the Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC on June 10, James W. von Brunn, left a trail of unhinged writings around the internet.

The anti-semitism of von Brunn is the first thing one notices when visiting these bizarre websites. However, like those of most "white supremacists", many of von Brunn's political views track "Left" rather than "Right." Clearly, a re-evaluation of these obsolete definitions is long overdue.

For example, he unleashed his hatred of both Presidents Bush and other "neo-conservatives" in online essays. As even some "progressives" such as the influential Adbusters magazine publicly admit, "neoconservative" is often used as a derogatory code word for "Jews". As well, even a cursory glance at "white supremacist" writings reveals a hatred of, say, big corporations that is virtually indistinguishable from that of anti-globalization activists.

James von Brunn's advocacy of 9/11 conspiracy theories also gives him an additional commonality with individuals on the far-left.

Update: Von Brunn was a member of the Ron Paul for President Yahoo group where he posted crazy rants about how Israel was founded by Murder Inc.

Plugging my recent blog post because it's got a decent Google result for "Jews did 9/11."

A Suspect's Long History of Hate, and Signs of Strain

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/artic...

He was about to give away his computer, his primary connection to the fringe world of radical racists. He was living hand to mouth.

The e-mails were getting violent in tone: "It's time to kill all the Jews."

Von Brunn, who lives in Annapolis, was known for decades to fellow white supremacists who read his elaborate conspiracy theories on his Web site and met him through a network of radical racist groups. He was smart enough to join Mensa, but even admirers considered him a loner, a hothead and a man consumed with hatred.

GLENN BECK SAYS 9/11 TRUTHERS ARE DESTROYING AMERICA

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lUTATYaIZYI

It doesn't get much worse than this. Although that's some kind of confirmation that we are threat.

Actually, this kind of gets me fired up.

He quotes all of the same people (Mullins, Lindberg, Pound, etc). Where have we heard this before?

Gunman kills security guard at Holocaust Museum June 10, 2009 - 10:36pm

The Rev. David Ostendorf, executive director of Center for a New Community in Chicago, a national civil rights group, said von Brunn has described in his own writings a long relationship with Willis Carto, founder of the Liberty Lobby, the Spotlight Newspaper and a well-known white supremacist and anti-Semite.

note: the "Liberty Lobby / Spotlight" is the previous incarnation of the American Free Press / Barnes Review, whose website claims that Hitler deserved the Nobel Peace Prize. You can't make this stuff up.

What do people make of this and the Tiller murder? Right wing hate crimes sure are a media hit right now...

The SF Examiner, by the way, which ran the original story in this thread, is a right-wing propaganda arm that was bought by Christian conservative billionaire, Phil Anschutz, and endorsed John McCain for president. Yes, one of the two main papers in San Francisco endorsed McCain over Obama.

Things like the von Brunn story really make me feel like the last nails are being put in the coffin of the 9/11 truth movement. Luckily, it doesn't look like many other outlets are carrying his 9/11 truth "connections."

"James von Brunn's advocacy of 9/11 conspiracy theories also gives him an additional commonality with individuals on the far-left."

Isn't the "far left" the Chomsky crowd, who avoid discussion of 911 altogether? Making this statement fallacious?

I'm struck by the desperate juxtaposition of words and phrases in the Examiner piece. The lexicon:

"Holocaust Museum"; "unhinged"; "internet"; "anti-semitism"; "bizarre"; "white supremacists"; "hatred"; "Jews"; "anti-globalisation"; "911 conspiracy theorists"; "far left".

There's been a rash of new articles on "conspiracy theorists" recently; now comes a new "Holocaust denial" wave. Crude stuff.

Thanks Truthmover, for a great Truth Burnout post. This is the way to deal with it, imo.

Yes, one of the two main papers in San Francisco

It's fascinating that SF has excelled in every way -- it is now the LAW to compost food! -- except their media, which remains in the hands of whomever, but not the people.

Interestingly, however, the indybay site appears to be infiltrated as well -- they now remove most posts critical of the animal liberation extremist actions (harassing researchers, stalking them, physically assaulting researchers at their homes, etc.) which are now being used to create new precedents to label activists as terrorists by the FBI.

I think we need to remember, and constantly reinforce, that “9/11 Truth” is not synonymous with “9/11 Conspiracy Theories.”

Perhaps there is some overlap – but there is a WORLD of difference between citizens who seek to petition the government for accountability and verifiable facts associated with 9/11… and those who seek to construct theories that assign direct blame for 9/11 on specific groups of people, vis-à-vis hate speech, anti-Semitism, paranoia and political motivation.

Sometimes this trend in hate speech is subtle. Sometimes it is not. But I can say that it is one of the things that makes me very uncomfortable about the direction SOME 9/11 Truth activists have taken. There appears to be a mean streak that runs thru some of the Rightwing / Libertarian / Ron Paul / Alex Jones / Super Patriot / tax-resister / pro-militia voices in this movement that seems less interested in FACTS and more interested in painting with a very wide brush.

I find it interesting that Glen Beck is pointing fingers at 9/11 Truth while so many of the fringe elements of the movement seem to mimic and echo his sentiments - almost word for word.

Some suspect conspiracy in Holocaust Museum case
    http://www.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/06/16/museum.shootin...

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- To most, the evidence against alleged Holocaust Museum shooter James von Brunn may seem overwhelming. The "Ghost Troop" leader says shooting suspect James von Brunn corresponded with him for several years.

The "Ghost Troop" leader says shooting suspect James von Brunn corresponded with him for several years.

    Surveillance camera video.

    Eyewitness accounts.

Von Brunn's red Hyundai parked outside.

    Ballistics.

But to some people in Von Brunn's e-mail chain and Web circles, there's a darker truth.

They say the June 10 shooting at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum may be a "false flag" operation. The incident could have been staged by one group, perhaps what they describe as the Jewish-controlled U.S. government, to make it appear to be the actions of another group -- in this case, von Brunn and others who believe Jews exercise too much control in the United States.

In other words, von Brunn could have been set up, they contend.

"Today's shootings at the DC Holocaust Museum bear some of the classic earmarks of a false flag operation," wrote conspiracy theorist Eric May on the Web site amfirstbooks.com.

"Mind you, I'm not asserting that this is a false flag operation, but neither am I discounting the possibility. I exhort Internet researchers to look into this carefully and publish results," May wrote.

An Embassy of Israel official in Washington, informed of the Ghost Troop speculation, declined comment, saying it deserved none.

May is founder of Ghost Troop, which he describes as an informal group of more then 300 ex-military and civilian volunteers who "thwart false flag attacks and other criminal activity by the administration."
