Some scientists believe Alaska will be among the first to feel the impact of global warming, but Sarah Palin told voters there she wasn't sure climate change wasn't simply part of a natural warming cycle.

"I will not pretend to have all the answers," Palin said about global warming, according to the Anchorage Daily News. Her spokesman clarified at the time that "she's not totally convinced one way or the other. Science will tell us ... She thinks the jury's still out."

Palin shared her views in the run-up to the 2006 governor's race, at an Alaska Federation of Natives convention, where delegates passed a resolution calling for a mandatory reduction in pollution affecting the atmosphere.

Yeah. Saw that. Glad you posted it.

The choice of Palin as VP runs so counter to basic strategic logic, that I'm coming to assume that the McCain campaign is intending to lose. Could it be that they know cheating will once again secure the election for the Republicans, or to be fanciful, that they know Bush is going to have a third term?

Or just maybe they want to hand Obama a big mess making it impossible for his Administration to enact his policies and ensuring a Republican President in 2012.

Either way, Palin is a mess. And about as dim a conservative bulb as you can find. No free thought in her corner. Relative to the Presidential race she's like a Fox news anchor. Pretty and able to parrot the talking points well. I'm sure she's a smart and capable lady. But certainly not someone that most anyone would want with their finger on 'the button.' If McCain died of natural causes, we'd have the mayor of a town of 9000 running the free world. Or more specifically, functioning as a very effective puppet.

Here's an interesting take I saw:

'I believe against hope that Sarah Palin was the visible price the neocons and religious right demanded in return for rigging the vote count for McCain. The invisible price will be the slew of proto-fascist appointments and policies yet to come, including virtually no taxes for the rich and a police state infrastructure ready to rock-and-roll with any civil discontent.'
